New Owners of Historic Maple Lake Pavilion to Host End of Summer Bash with Car Show, Music, and More
Mentor, MN — For more than 90 years, the Maple Lake Pavilion has been a lakes area headquarters for music, entertainment, and community gatherings. Now the Pederson family, the 4th owners of the historic facility, is hoping to continue to keep that spirit going and continue with new traditions as well after taking it over this past spring. Kayla Pederson says the Maple Lake Pavilion has over the years hosted some of biggest names in the music industry along with many of the local favorites.
Kayla and her sister-in law Aimee have been helping run the family-owned venue since taking over in April. Their first event was bringing back Johnny Holm to play their usual Memorial Day weekend gig, who hadn’t played the Pavilion since before the pandemic. The return of Johnny Holm was a success but now as we head into Labor Day, the Pederson’s are hoping to start a new tradition to cap off the summer. This Sunday, Aimee Pederson invites everyone to the Maple Lake Pavilion for their first annual car show, plus games, food, and music from the very talented Downtown Horns.
Registration for the Maple Lake Pavilion Car Show will begin at Noon and the show will run from 1pm until 5pm with People’s Choice awards at 4:30pm. Dash Plaques will also be provided to the first 30 entries.
Downtown Horns will take to the Pavilion starting at 8pm. There will be a $10 cover.
