Old Timers Run Returns this Saturday in Lake Park
Lake Park, MN — Tune up the TX or power up the Panther, the time is nearing for the annual Old Timers Snowmobile Run in Lake Park. The Midnite Riders host their annual show and ride this Saturday, February 4th , which will start and end at the Lake Park Liquor Store. Registration gets underway at 8am, followed by a brief display of the sleds 25 years older before taking off for a nearly 40 mile trip through lakes country, according to Midnite Riders President Bill Livdahl.
Completing the entire 39-mile journey can be a bit of a challenge on a 40 or 50 year old snowmobile. Livdahl encourages riders to take some time preparing their sled ahead of time and be prepared for breakdowns.
Hundreds of riders are anticipated to participate in this weekend’s Old Timers Run. Livdahl says new snowmobiles are welcome too, but an older, slower sled gives you a chance to take in the scenery.
Maps of the route will be available at the Lake Park Liquor Store prior to the ride, as well as at all stops along the way. The raffle drawings will take place back at the Lake Park Liquor Store at 7pm. Tickets are $10 and proceeds go back towards support trail development.
