Red River Valley Sportsman’s Club Hosting Youth Range & Field Day this Saturday
Perley, MN — The Red River Valley Sportsman’s Club will be hosting their annual Range and Field Day this Saturday, October 8th at the club near Perley. This is for youth age 11 to 15 looking to obtain their Firearms Safety Certificate. Prior to the range and field day, Wayne Lee of the Red River Valley Sportsman’s Club, says they must first complete an online course through the Minnesota DNR.
Tom Hutchins from the Minnesota DNR will assist with the in-person range and field day on Saturday, where Lee says they will review many of the online course topics and go-over real-life scenarios.
The most important message that Lee says they hope to instill on the young beginning hunters is to always treat your firearm as if its loaded and to know your target and what’s beyond it.
