Region 2 Arts Council Seeking Panelists

Residents of Beltrami, Clearwater, Hubbard, Lake of the Woods, or Mahnomen counties with
strong interest in the arts are being asked to volunteer as panelists for grant reviews in the
upcoming months. The Region 2 Arts Council is tasked with determining which art projects and
artists will be funded this year and will need volunteers who can commit to 5-15 grant
application reviews (estimated 10-20 minutes each) and the 2-3 hour review discussions that
take place on the following dates:

Season/Series Arts Support Grant (max. award $18,000) – October 6, 2026
Arts Access Grant Review (max. award $6,000) – January 5, 2027
Artist Support Grant Review (max. award $2,000) – February 9, 2027
Artist Engage Community Grant Review (max. award $6,000) – May 4, 2027

Panelists will be asked to review the applications based on criteria provided by the R2A Council
and will have 2 weeks to review the applications before presenting with everyone else at the
scheduled zoom meetings for each grant. According to the R2A Council, feedback from
previous panelists has been positive and most found their experience rewarding because they
participated in the decision-making process for public arts funding in our region, they found out
about cool & exciting upcoming arts events, and they were able to enjoy discussing art with
other people interested in the arts.
