Representative Marquart Talks Expectations as Legislative Session Gets Underway
St. Paul, MN — The 2022 Minnesota Legislative session got underway last week and there is a lot on the line this year, according to District 4B Representative Paul Marquart. Not only is it an election year, but it’s also a redistricting year and the legislature needs to address a more than $7 billion budget surplus. Marquart says there will be pressure for legislators to get stuff done.
Representative Marquart, who chairs the Tax Committee, says despite the huge budget surplus they will need to be cautious on how they spend it and make wise investments.
