(Aitkin, MN) — Riverwood Healthcare will be breaking ground on a $45 million expansion of the surgery center in Aitkin on Tuesday, July 26th with a special ceremony to mark the start of a two-year project.
Riverwood Foundation Director Katie Nelson informed us of the ceremony that will be held at 4:30pm from Healing Garden on the north side of the Hospital in Aitkin.
RSVP’s are preferred for this event, but Nelson did say that all community members are welcome to attend.
Kraus-Anderson is tapped as the construction firm for this project and is planned for completion for Fall 2024 with key features including six integrated operating rooms, five additional procedure rooms, new clinic space for general surgery, and more.
This expansion of Riverwood comes at a time where the need for more operating rooms is prevalent.
RSVPs can be sent to pr@rwealth.org with light refreshments being served.
The Riverwood Foundation is seeking community support for this project via a strengthening Our Roots capital campaign. They will also provide updates for the public as the surgery center project proceeds over the next two years.
