Riverwood’s Dr. David Taylor says ‘second wind’ of Seasonal Illness still ahead
Riverwood Healthcare Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Taylor shared some insights recently about the increases and impact of RSV and Influenza cases from the end of 2022 into the start of 2023, just as covid cases were beginning to wane. The non-word “tripledemic” may be trite and inaccurate, paraphrasing Dr Taylor, but it is true that three viruses have been affecting people in multiple ways this winter. RSV, which affects very young children and the elderly the most, is finally declining after making an extremely early entrance last fall. CoVid 19 numbers are also falling steadily. Influenza is hanging on tightly, however. And the symptoms, according to Dr. Taylor, are…not pleasant:
There is a virtual seminar about seasonal illnesses coming up on Wednesday.
