Settlement Reached In Leiting Lawsuit vs Fertile, Fair Meadow Nursing Home & Wilkens

The lawsuit between former Fair Meadow Nursing Home Administrator Angie Leiting and the City of Fertile, Fair Meadow Nursing Home and former Fertile Mayor Dan Wilkens has been settled.  

According to a letter from Leiting’s attorney, Sarah Jewell, to Polk County Judge Anne Rasmusson that was delivered Friday, a settlement agreement has been reached…and Jewell asked Judge Rasmusson to put a stay on the matter to August 31.  Jewell says she anticipates the parties will ask for a voluntary dismissal of all claims some time in August.

You’ll remember Leiting resigned under pressure from her job as Fair Meadow Administrator in June 2023.  A jury trial was scheduled for late October in Crookston.  R&J News will continue to follow this story.
