Sgt Harmon/Fallen Soldier Memorial Ride Set for This Saturday in Lengby
Lengby, MN — This Saturday, July 9th will be the 10th annual Sgt Harmon/Fallen Soldier Memorial Ride in Lengby. Sgt Harmon was killed in action on August 14th while serving in Afghanistan and this motorcycle ride is held as a way to pay tribute and support an annual scholarship for area students. This year’s ride will start at Spring Lake Park in Lengby and take a roughly 125-mile trip with stops in Fosston, Bagley, Itasca, and wrap up back at the Ruffed Grouse Roadhouse south of Lengby. Prior to the ride will be a free will donation breakfast from 9am until 10:30am and organizer Liza Nelson welcomes everyone, not just the riders, to come out to grab something to eat and check out the bikes.
The bikes will take off for the ride shortly after 11am and Paul Nelson encourages folks to join them in a parade-style send off and salute the riders as they begin their journey.
The ride is expected to wrap up around 4pm. Funds raised from the event goes to the Sgt Harmon Memorial Scholarship Fund, which has given $40,000 over the last 10 years to students at Win-E-Mac, Fosston, Clearbrook-Gonvick, and Bagley Schools.
