This Week is National FCCLA Week!
Ada, MN — This week is National FCCLA Week, a week where schools and current FCCLA members can celebrate and promote the nationwide organization aimed at making a positive impact in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences Education, according to Ada-Borup-West FCCLA Advisor Miki Hennen.
Before she was advisor, Hennen was an active member of the FCCLA in grades 7-12. As a student, she says she enjoyed meeting new people, learning new skills, and building confidence.
This is Hennen’s 2nd year as the FCCLA Advisor at Ada-Borup-West. As part of her new role, she now appreciates being able to watch the students learn and grow into leaders as well.
A big part of the FCCLA organization is the annual STAR events, where students put together projects and presentations and compete for a chance to earn trips to the state and national convention.
The Ada-Borup-West School is celebrating National FCCLA week a number of activities and dress up days. Today (Wednesday) is hat day, Thursday is dress to impress, and Friday is comfy day. The FCCLA will also be hosting a scavenger hunt on Thursday as well.
