United Way’s New Project, Operation: Soldier Story

For those who might not know, United Way of Northeastern Minnesota (UWNEMN) is a volunteer-based organization that works alongside other organizations such as United For Veterans. Through United for Veterans they help bring The Wall That Heals, a Vietnam Veterans Memorial, to the area. It was with that partnership that United Way came up with a new project to work on, Operation: Soldier Story. I had Michelle Lampton and Carissa MacLean in the studio with me to talk about the project.

I then asked how far into the project they are.

Next, I asked Carissa, who I learned does NOT work for United Way, about her involvement with the project.

Operation: Soldier Story is being created in partnership with St. Louis County Historical Society (SLCHS)’S Veteran Memorial Hall oral history project and with financial support from Veterans Community Thrift Store in Hibbing.
