Volunteer opportunity for Koochiching AARP Tax Aide
AARP Tax Aide in Koochiching County is seeking volunteers who are interested in helping with this impactful service.
ElderCircle is seeking volunteers for each of the four positions described below (more information about each is attached).
AARP Tax-Aide provides free tax preparation services to area residents, with a focus on the elderly and those with low-to-moderate income.
This is an opportunity to make a significant contribution to the local community.

• Support Facilitator (i.e., greeter, scheduler): Performs check-in duties, provides an important first contact to the AARP Foundation Tax-Aide program for taxpayers.
• Client Facilitator: Manages taxpayers’ initial activities, reviews taxpayer documentation to ensure they have the minimum requirements.
• Counselor (minimum two per site): Counselors provide tax assistance and preparation service to taxpayers.
• Electronic Return Originator (minimum one per site): The Electronic Return Originator (ERO) works with the Local Coordinator and the Counselors to electronically file federal and state tax returns (including property tax rebate and rent credits) with the IRS and state Departments of Revenue via IRS- provided tax preparation software (TaxSlayer).
