Waabigwan Cannabis Dispensary opens in Mahnomen 

The Waabigwan Cannabis dispensary opened its doors on the Morning of Thursday August 3 making it the first legal cannabis dispensary in Mahnomen County. White Earth Nation Chairman Michael Fairbanks speaks about the benefit and importance the dispensary will have for the White Earth Nation. 

We also had the chance to catch up with some of the dispensaries first customers and hear their opinions about the legalization of cannabis in the state of Minnesota. One of the customers spoke about how it will help them with medical issues. 

One customer thinks that it will benefit the state of Minnesota. 

We also spoke to a customer who just believed that people should have the right to consume cannabis products. 

The legalization of cannabis for recreational use was instituted on August 1. The Waabigwan Dispensary opening was delayed a few minutes due to confusion with the licensing approval from the Mahnomen City Council but at 10:20 the dispensary opened its doors to all qualified customers. The Waabigwan dispensary is one of the first dispensaries to sell cannabis for recreational use in the state of Minnesota.
