Wake the Lakes Moron Lawbreaker for the Week: “Indiana man sets car on fire to deter car thieves” 

An Indiana man, fed up with car thieves targeting his vehicle and the items inside, tried to teach them a lesson — by setting his own car on fire.  26-year-old Austin Bristoe was arrested and charged with arson for setting fire to his 1998 Buick. Police arrived at the scene to find Bristoe standing next to his burning car. He told them he did it to stop people from stealing it. At one point while talking to officers, he told them, “I hoped the explosions would be bigger.” According to a police affidavit, Bristoe “stated that if there was nothing left of the vehicle then there would be nothing left to steal.” Technically, he was not wrong. Police placed him under arrest and charged him with arson.
