Wake The Lakes Moron Lawbreaker for the Week: “Texas Woman Arrested Smuggling Spider Monkey In Box She Claimed Held Beer”

(Brownsville, TX)  —  A Texas woman is under arrest after attempting to smuggle an endangered spider monkey in a box that she claimed held beer.  The woman attempted to enter the U.S. from Mexico back in March, with officers noticing a wooden box with holes in her car.  The woman said it was beer she had bought in Mexico, but upon further investigation, a live spider monkey was then found in the car.  The woman drove away, but officers found an online listing for the monkey and the woman’s phone number later in the day.  She recently pleaded guilty to smuggling wildlife and fleeing an immigration checkpoint, and will be sentenced in January.
