Rydell National Wildlife Refuge Find Your Wild Event

This upcoming Saturday, September 26th, the Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association (FRGRRA) will be hosting its annual Find Your Wild event on Rydell National Wildlife Refuge. Rydell Refuge is located approximately three miles southwest of Erskine, MN off of County Rd. 210. This fun, free, family event will run from 10:00am until 2:00pm and will be a great opportunity to usher in the fall season on one of the most accessible wildlife refuges in the entire country. During the event, the visitor center and nature store will both be open and the FRGRRA will be debuting some new custom water bottles for sale. Coffee and snacks will also be provided.

 While at the Refuge for this event, visitors can enjoy the six miles of established hiking/biking trails at a gorgeous time of year. A new trail feature that will be highlighted at this event is a Story Stroll that is set up at the start of Golden Pond Trail. This new trail feature is made up of 15-20 stations spaced out along alternating sides of the first 1/4 mile of the trail. Each station will display a page from a nature-related children’s book. This new feature will be a fun experience for both kids and adults alike! 

Additionally, one of the FRGRRA members will be conducting an interpretive presentation on nature’s furry engineers – beavers. This presentation will include a variety of props and information on how beavers impact their surroundings and create their own new habitat!
