Ada, MN — Applications are being accepted for this year’s Conservation Reserve Program General Sign Up. The deadline to apply is March 11th. The General CRP Program assists landowners in establishing long-term, resource-conserving plant species (grass or trees) to control soil erosion, improve water quality and enhance wildlife habitat on crop land. Norman and Clay County FSA Director James Kruize provides more details on this year’s general sign up.

In addition to the General signup, Kruize notes that are also conservation opportunities for landowners through the Grasslands CRP and Continuous CRP program.

There will be a pair of informational meetings this week for those interested in learning more about the CRP programs, including one on February 15th at 9am and the other on February 17th at 1:30pm. The meetings will be held virtually. Contact your local FSA office for a link to the meetings.
