College Football Signings
Several area athletes signed national letters of intent Wednesday to accept college football scholarships for next fall.
Fertile-Beltrami running back Isaiah Wright signed with University of Minnesota-Duluth. Wright was a two-time All State player in 9-man football and led the Falcons to a Minnesota state 9-man championship last fall.
Barnesville defensive back Gannon Bolgrean and DGF linebacker Caleb Johnson both signed with Minnesota State-Moorhead.
Crookston offensive lineman Riley Helgeson signs with Northern State.
Park Christian offensive tackle Sam Smith and Maple Valley linebacker Tye Sylling both signed with the University of Sioux Falls.
And Mayville State University signed several from the area: Fosston tight end Will Christen, Northern Cass defensive end Sam Nelson, Stephen-Argyle running back Blaine Smith and two from Mayport-CG: defensive end Bohdi Peterson and running back Cutler Peterson. The Comets also added a couple of transfers with local ties: former Kittson County Central offensive lineman Isaac Folland, who transfers from North Dakota….and former Carrington linebacker Jake Otto, who transfers from Valley City State.
