Minnesota employers are reminded to update their required workplace postings. An updated workers’ compensation poster is now available and includes new information about mental health injuries that may be covered under workers’ compensation.
State law requires employers to display certain notices where employees can easily see them. The workers’ compensation poster explains what to do if you’re injured on the job, what benefits may be available, what insurers are required to do, and how to report suspected fraud.
The posters are free and can be printed or ordered through the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry’s Workplace Notices and Posters webpage. They’re available individually or as part of a poster pack, with many offered in multiple languages.

A new family resource is helping parents guide kids in using artificial intelligence safely and responsibly. “A Family Guide to Safe AI Use for Kids,” from the National Association of Elementary School Principals, offers practical tips as AI becomes more common in homework and everyday life.
The guide encourages families to explain what AI can and cannot do, highlight privacy and data awareness, and set emotional boundaries so kids see AI as a tool — not a replacement for real learning or relationships.
It also suggests conversation starters and examples of healthy AI use, like brainstorming project ideas or practicing vocabulary.
You can learn more by visiting the National Association of Elementary School Principals online.
International Falls area anglers are getting ready for the annual Rainy Lake ice fishing derby coming up this Saturday, and local DNR Fisheries Supervisor Phil Talmage says it’s a favorite late-winter tradition.
Talmage says anglers can expect a variety of fish species to be registered during the derby, with perch fishing especially strong this season.
He says walleye, sauger, northern pike and other species are also commonly caught in Sand Bay.
Talmage also reminds anglers to stay safe on the ice and be mindful of conditions.
Anglers are encouraged to use good traction on boots and avoid drilling holes on plowed ice roads.
Talmage will also be joining the live derby broadcast Saturday afternoon.
