Mahnomen City Council News & Notes from June 6th Meeting
Mahnomen, MN — The Mahnomen City Council held their first regular monthly meeting on Monday night, June 6th at the Mahnomen Fire Hall. At the meeting the council approved moving forward with the sale of two lots to Mid Minnesota Community Development Corporation. Pending MMCDC can acquire funding on their end, Mahnomen City Administrator Kari Kirschbaum says they plan to construct 24 town homes on the east side of Highway 59.
And as the city looks to expand their infrastructure at the Highway 59 and Highway 200 corridor, the council also approved a resolution to apply for PFA funding for that project.
More improvements are on the way for the city-ran Wild Rice Lounge. Administrator Kirschbaum says they approved a bid of $12,109 for a patio cover as part of that ongoing revitalization of that facility.
And the council held a public hearing for a conditional use permit for Affinity Plus Credit Union, who is moving into the former Subway building.
The next Mahnomen City Council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 5th.
