MFB PAC Announces Candidate Endorsements

MFB PAC Announces Candidate Endorsements

September 8, 2022 Farm News News -- KRJB-KRJM-KKCQ 0

St. Paul, MN — The Minn Farm Bureau Political Action Committee (MFB PAC) recently announced its candidate endorsements for the upcoming 2022 state legislative elections. Additionally, the Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation Political Action Committee (MFBF PAC) announced candidate endorsements in federal races.

PAC endorsements are based on a candidate’s support of MFBF policy. Candidates participate in interviews with Farm Bureau members across the state, who in turn make recommendations to the State PAC Committee to make a final endorsement decision.

Committee Chair Ray Johnson says the endorsement process is an important step in engaging with candidates for political office and these endorsements help us to understand candidate viewpoints on key agricultural issues as we look ahead to the election in November.

Party affiliation does not matter when it comes to the Minnesota Farm Bureau endorsement. Johnson says what matters is that they support agriculture.

Some local candidates endorsed by the Minnesota Farm Bureau include Mark Johnson (Senate District 1), Steve Green (Senate District 2), (John Burkel (House District 1A), Deb Kiel (House District 1A), Matt Grossel (House District 2A), Matt Bliss (House District 2B), Rob Ecklund (House District 3A), and Natalie Zeleznikar (House 3A), and Michell Fishbach (US House District 7). The Farm Bureau did not endorse any candidates for District 4.  See the full list online at www.fbmn.org.

The PAC Committee is comprised of county Farm Bureau members from across the state. The MFB and MFBF PACs are voluntary and do not receive financial support from MFBF membership dues.
