Wake The Lakes “Moron Lawbreaker of the Week”

A Utah man is under arrest after he stole an excavator from a construction site and drove it to a nearby supermarket where he dug up the parking lot. Salt Lake City police say the equipment was left running at the construction site when a man jumped in and drove it away. Workers at the site watched him and followed him for nearly a mile to a grocery store where he began to dig up the parking lot. Police were called and construction workers, along with store employees and shoppers, kept the man from leaving until officers arrived. He was eventually placed under arrest and charged with felony theft and felony criminal mischief. Cops say he caused a lot of damage to the ground and tore up water pipes and fiber optic utility lines. (KUTV-TV)
