FSA Offering Loans for Youth and Beginning Farmers
Ada, MN — Whether you want to purchase livestock to display at the county fair or you’re looking to start your own farming operation, the USDA Farm Service Agency has funding options for youth and beginning farmers. Youth loans are available to individual young persons to start and operate income-producing projects of modest size in connection with their participation in 4-H clubs, FFA, a Tribal youth group, or similar agricultural youth organization. James Kruize, Norman & Clay County FSA Director, says the project being financed with an FSA Youth Loan needs to provide an opportunity for the young person to acquire experience and education in agriculture-related skills
America’s next generation of farmers and ranchers are also supported through FSA’s “Beginning Farmer and Rancher” direct and guaranteed loan programs. Kruize invites potential beginning farmers and ranchers to attend a statewide virtual meeting to learn more about eligibility requirements and how they can capitalize.
