Northland Arboretum to host ‘Nurtured by Nature’ Women’s Wellness Workshop
Women are invited to experience using nature as a backdrop to their overall health and wellbeing at “Nurtured by Nature,” a women’s wellness workshop at the Northland Arboretum on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
“Research continues to link happiness and harmony in life with time spent in nature,” said Arboretum Executive Director Candice Zimmerman. “The Northland Arboretum couldn’t agree more.”
The event will feature inspiring presentations, wellness screenings, demonstrations, outdoor activities, more than 20 educational booths, and advice from various clinicians. There will also be wellness-inspired food samples, healthy refreshments, hand massages, door prizes, and numerous giveaways.
Presentations will begin at 5 p.m. with Master Gardner Jackie Burkey offering “Houseplant Math—Divide and Multiply” followed by Registered Dietitian Hanna Christenson delivering “Mindful Eating – Convenient, Quick, and Easy” at 5:30 p.m. Advanced Massage & Skincare Specialist Cathy Christy will present “De-Stress Your Life” at 6 p.m. and Wellness and Mindset Coach Anna Struss will offer “Wellness from Within—Empowering You!” at 6:30 p.m.
Ladies attending will be able to have their blood pressure and pulse monitored, obtain Body Mass Index scores, and have their skin screened for cancer. An Obstetrician/Gynecologist will be available to answer health and wellness questions. There will also be outdoor frozen yoga and a snow shoeing demonstration.
