Schools Noticing Common Trend of Behavioral Issues Among Students Post-Pandemic
Ada, MN — Coming out of the pandemic, many parents and school staff members alike worried about the possible educational impacts of the COVID-19 lockdowns, learning from home, and other changes to student structure. Learning loss and the overall mental health concerns are two of the biggest problems that schools appear to be tasked with solving. During a recent visit on the KRJB Kaleidoscope Program, Ada-Borup-West Elementary Principal Bree Triplett says they’ve also noticed a trend in behavioral issues and it’s not just impacting those students, but the rest of the students around them.
Triplett talks more specifically about some of the behavioral issues they’re encountering and what schools are doing to address them.
Staff members at the Ada-Borup-West School District have been pushing the district administration and school board to hire a Behavioral Interventionist to assist them with the behavior discipline issues in the classroom.
